Assuming you mean Magix Movie Studio 2024, it requires Win 10 or 11 to run, as per the specs on Magix.com (the link for this is at the bottom of the Movie Studio product page).
You can get a no-questions-asked refund, as per the sales email, within 14 days of purchase.
I think Movie Edit Pro 2018 is Vista compatible but you may not then have access to anything that requires Direct X 11.1 to work such as some effects and possibly the HEVC codec. That version would also not run on Windows 10 and above and projects could not be moved from one computer program to another to work on.
Others here may be better able to answer which version would work better with Vista but I think it is the 2018 version.
As your computer is running Vista, what is the specification of the computer system, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full.
. . . . I think Movie Edit Pro 2018 is Vista compatible . . . .
MEP 2018 requires Windows 7 or better. IIRC MEP 17 was the last version that was supported on Vista later versions starting with MX required Windows 7 or better.
