Vintage Effects Suite Plus

In SFAS13 there are these vintage stompbox effects (see the link below) that I really like and I would like to use them in another VST host (Maschine). But the Magix plugins that come with SFAS13 are 'hard-bundled' so they can only be used within the program.

I found out that these were also featured in Samplitude Music Studio 14. Back then were these effects also only usable within the program?

There is a Vintage Effects Suite plugin bundle for sale, but these aren't the same plugins. I'm wondering if the stompbox plugins that I like were also available once to use outside Magix programs. Does anyone here know?

Not definitively, no but as a general rule Magix-produced plug-ins cannot be used in other manufacturer's software.

I know the chance is small. And even when it is possible, then it still won't be easy to find the original software. But at least I got to try...

Hi there,

Yeah, that license of the plug-in suite that was included with SMS 14 would have been restricted to that host. You'd only be able to use the various MAGIX pro audio effect plug-ins with other DAWs if you purchased them separately and received a (P2) serial number for them:

Hope this info helps.

Thanks Ralftaro. In the meantime I've been searching the internet for the release of a Vintage Effects Suite plugin bundle containing these stompbox effects prior to the current Vintage Effects Suite plugin bundle (https://www.magix.com/int/music/vintage-effects-suite/), but I haven't found anything about it, so I guess it simply doesn't exist and there aren't many other options than using SFAS13 or an old version of Samplitude Music Maker as I believe the current version doesn't include those plugins anymore.

I've found Samplitude Music Studio 2013 that contains the same Magix vintage plugins with the facelifted GUI. Unfortunately I haven't been able to locate the dll files for the effects plugins like I could with the same plugins that came with SFAS13. They'd probably be restricted to Samplitude anyway, but I was hoping for that very small chance they would have worked. So to use these plugins for making music in another VST host there seems no other option than occasionally using Samplitude to add effects to wave files as if it were a wave editor like Sound Forge. Not ideal imo, because I prefer to work non-destructive all in one project, but at least the tempo sync of these plugins work in Samplitude unlike in SFAS13.

It doesn't matter, as the plugins are likely not to work if you try to add them to another host, especially if it isn't a MAGIX application. They typically are written to an application private directory precisely so they don't pollute the plug-in list in applications where they do not function.
