Video Wandler 2 installation problem

videoleif wrote on 3/19/2013, 9:58 AM

I received my "Video Wandler 2" yesterday.
(I have not been able to find instructions for the installation, so I did it in what I would describe as "the usual procedure".)

I downloaded the driver file via link on this thread:  http://www.magix.info/uk/cant-find-vcr-when-trying-to-transfer-vhs-tape.knowledge.892001.html

Installation ended succesful - at least the screen message said so.

When I try to run Magix MovieEdit Pro MX, the program recognise the unit as audio unit only, not accepted for video input.

I have tested it for audio and it records perfect.

I have tried to uninstall MEP MX. Reinstall driver for VideoWandler, and then reinstall MEP MX. No change in result. Only audio-input accepted.

My hardware is:
Intel Q8300 4x2,5 Ghz, Nvidia GT 220 1 GB
Win7 32 bit, 4 GB DDR3 ram, HDD 1 TB + usb-drives.

Magix Movie Edit PRO MX Plus,  v. 11.0.6.4

Hi

When you click the Record button and select Video what do you see in the box circled on this image ?

On your desk top - right click Computer and select from the drop down menu Manage, in the left pane select Device Manager

In the right pane select Sound, video and game controllers - is the USB video wandler there and without any error icon ie yellow exclamation mark next to it?

John

The box is empty.

There is registered MAGIX VIDEO-Wandler 2.
the driver vers. is  5.7.1107.0

No error indication.

The strange thing is that if I choose Audio recording, the unit is working OK. Audioquality perfect.

Since I bought the Video Wandler2  without the rest of the Rescue-my-videotapes package I may miss some part of sotware?
I am using it with MEP MX+, and I downloaded the unit driver from Magix homepage:  magix_usb-videodriver_2_(red_white)_
