Hi

Please re-read the answer to your post on Deleting empty space - the mouse mode behaviour has already been explained.

no... I'm not talking about the mouse, im talking about the tracks, when I delete a split part the tracks automatically move to the left and overlap other tracks. I have no idea whats going on but no option i select in the program fixes it so that leads me to believe its a bug or something.

Hi

Are you saying the mouse mode behaviour is not affecting what happens on the timeline when you make cuts and delete?

The behaviour I get is shown in the video below - note I am using the Z key to cut the start of the selected object, however the behaviour is the same when I use Cut / Delete to edit an object.

Is your MEP 2016 patched up to date - it should be 15.0.0.77 at this time?

Hi, the tracks are doing the sam behavior as at 0:38 in your video, however I am only using the T key to cut and Delete to delete the track. I have been doing this in the previous version of MEP, 2015, and this has not happened which is why i am confused since i am only simply cutting the track and deleting the part. I had the option where it will grab all tracks and move them selected and that happened but i tried single object selection and the problem didnt happen, at least not when i tried it a few tmes. However that never happened in MEP 2015, i always selected a track object with select all tracks option and deleted it and they never moved at all.

I am running version 15.0.0.78

Hi

. . . . I have been doing this in the previous version of MEP, 2015, and this has not happened which is why i am confused since i am only simply cutting the track and deleting the part. . . . . .

I have checked, MEP 2015 and previous versions as well, and can now see why you are getting confused.

In MEP 2016 the overlap, I suspect, is by design in order to maintain synchronisation of objects on multiple tracks further down the timeline.

In MEP 2015, and previous versions back to MX, under the same conditions the objects do not move if there is not enough space however this will cause loss of multi track object synchronisation further down the timeline.

If you want the behaviour as in MEP 2015 then I would advise you to use the Mouse Single Track mode.

I rarely, if never, use the All tracks mode when editing I swap between Single object and Single track regularly using the keyboard shortcuts while editting.

BTW was there a typo in the version number - I cannot find a patch 15.0.0.78  ? May be it is a localisation patch - I am in the UK.

Ah i see, ok well that explains things, I'll just switch between single and multi modes from now on. I have the Steam version of MEP 2016, that could be why it is .78 instead of 77.
