@Olof-Henrikson

welcome to the Magix user to user forums, so not a contact for any Magix staff and the product is not ours!

Video Sound Cleaning Lab can open a video file and allow the user to “clean” its audio and save the changed audio. What I am not sure about is whether the program replaces the original audio with the changed audio automatically (I think it does) or whether the original video file needs to be opened in Movie Edit Pro, the original audio removed and the new audio added and the new version (audio and video) exported.

Hi

Video Sound Cleaning Lab can be used with MEP 2016 directly.

After installing VSCL, MEP 2016 should detect the program and change the Audio Editor link in the program settings as shown below

If VSCL is not detected then you can manually change the above link.

To use VSCL from within MEP 2016 right click the audio of the video clip you want to clean and select Edit wave externally this will mix down the audio and open VSCL with the audio file loaded.

On completion of editing in VSCL select File, Save and exit.

The audio attached to the video clip will be exchanged for the new cleaned version.

Hi,

Not so fast! If you don't have it, don't get it.

You already have Music Editor 3 that comes with MEP. Video Sound Cleaning Lab is supposed to be an upgrade to that but it is not. It does not have VST capability, at least it didn't in the version that I purchased. That makes it less useful than what you have. I complained to Magix at the time.

At the time, the real upgrade was to Audio & Music Lab Premium and it is far superior.

The current upgrade of the same product is to what is now called Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab 4. It does not work properly and does not work with the video editors - the audio file does not open in it, and there are other problems. The last one that works is SFACL 3. I just checked it with MEP2015, so it should work with SFACL 3.

If you already purchased VSCL, return it and tell Magix that it is not usable because of the VST problem and that you would like SFACL3, not 4 because of the aforementioned problems.

Magix is aware of the problems and has not done anything about them for close to a year. Hopefully, they will fix 4, but more users need to complain.
