Hello. I just bought the software to try it out and can't seem to find the typical video scopes - rgb parade, etc.- that most video editing programs have. Am I just missing where it is located?
If this is essential to you and you have bought the ultimate version, then you can find all the normal scopes in the Effects 'New Blue Blue Essentials' section in the effect labelled 'Region Scope'.
The effects package is the New Blue Essentials 5 Ultimate package listed in the bundled effects.
and as shown on the New Blue related effects page.
If you have recently haven't (in the last week or so) got the Ultimate version but bough another version instead, you could email Magix and say you made a mistake in ordering your program and could they upgrade you to the ultimate package if you were willing to pay the difference. I did that a few years back and at that time Magix seemed happy to do so. They will tell you to deregister your product and then possibly you will then be refunded and free to purchase the new version. Or they might take the difference and give you a new activation code once you have deregistered your current copy. At which point you may find additional content to download. I'm not sure what way that will go.
Personally I find the New Blue plugins to be quite useful.
I don't have the NB package with the Region Scopes, but they come with NB ColorFast 2. Turning them on in MMS2024, 2025 and in VPX16 gives me a black image. I tried the various Device Options - CPU, Intel, NVIDIA - no success. The scopes had worked in the past, but no longer for me.
I have noticed some problems with NB plugins misbehaving, the magnifying glass, in particular. Don't know why.
In any event, one is much better off with VPX, IMHO, and not just for the instruments.
I had overlooked New Blue Colorfast but checked mine including trying to get the slider positioning as close to your settings as you show them as possible and it's working. I have never had any problems with any New Blue or Hitfilm effect plugins.
The only major difference in our systems that could cause a possible problems as far as I can see would be if you had an 8GB version of the 3060 as I am also running MMS 2024 with a 3060 12GB variant. Or if you are not also using the Intel UHD 630 or not running the current drivers for it.
Otherwise the Intel HD graphics are the same even if your processor is one generation newer.
Are your programs using both CPUs? I haven't used the Windows / System / Graphics Settings at all to influence the behaviour of either MMS or VPX as I once did as there appears no advantage any more of doing so. The latest driver for the Intel UHD 630 is 31.0.101.2130
As for running VPX instead. Even if @Kevin-Ward decided to cross grade his current MMS version that is still a £74 pound (or equivalent currency difference) payment if he has the suite version and only wanting the basic VPX package at the current discount price deals (more if the additional plugins are desired). Not everyone wants to spend that much on their video editor. Yes VPX has more bells and whistles and is shown in the price difference. No argument there and I have a copy of VPX but I personally use both programs with no real preference.
It could be a bios setting. Use the nvidia software to check you have resizable BAR enabled. That's found in Help, System information and should read enabled. It will only work for the nvidia card as the Intel UHD 630 is not capable of using Resizable BAR.
If the nvidia control panel reports you don't have it enabled, in the Bios section it should show in the top right corner of the first screen you see when entering the bios and will either say OFF or ON.
I normally see both GPUs working in Task Manager doing at least 3D work while running either program. Both roughly reporting 47% usage on a simple 4K video project on playback.
[Edit] One further thought.
Is your graphics card in the top PCIe slot? The one nearest the processor. Having it lower down in another slot will hinder performance.
I tried NBFX Colorfast 2 and Region Scopes in MMS 2024 Suite and they work as they should. But I have the latest version of NBFX TotalFX 360 installed. Trying figure out the version number of the NBFX in MMS.
But since Ray has it working, it should on John CB's computer too. Strange that it doesn't work in either VPX or MMS. Now the fun begins in figuring out why...
