I would like to use Samplitude for the audio editing with Video Pro. I saw in the manual that it can be done. Has anyone tried doing this? What versions would be required? I presently have older versions of both.
I see that no one has replied to you since June. I don't have Video Pro, only Move Edit Pro 2014 (MEP), but I do have Samplitude Music Studio 2013 and Music Maker. MEP shares with Music Maker but not Music Studio. So far as I can tell, Music Studio does not show the video; there is no monitor. You can import certain video files into Studio, but only the audio shows up. You can then Share with MEP, or with Video Pro I presume, and the result from Studio will be placed wherever your Playback marker is located in MEP or Video Pro if it is open, or it will open MEP or Video Pro and put the file on track 5 at the beginning.
Check under Share in the menu of both products for options.
If you want to be able to see the video and create the music to fit, then you need Music Maker. I recommend the Premium version and regret having gone to the cheaper one.
I had a bit of a play with exchange between Video Pro X2* and Samplitude 11 Producer but that was so long ago I had to re-learn today from scratch! The manual seems to miss a few points -- like just where do you get started, so briefly...
As shown above you go to 'Options' >> 'Project Properties' >> 'Media Link' to select a video file. There is an 'Extract audio from video' button but I've not seen it other than grayed out. The frames will appear along the top of the Samplitude window thus, plus two more that show where the range is set:
I just dragged in a single wave file to see if all was working but presumably you would now get down to full audio editing. When satisfied you then go back to the media link window and choose your output options like whether to create a new video with the new audio or replace the original.
All this assumes you have a completed video export so it doesn't mater what version* of MEP you have used. If you make more progress do please report back.
