Video ending is being clipped on rendering

FF22 wrote on 2/2/2025, 6:24 PM

He's back!

I have rendered the video a few times. Each time finding something to tweak. Move a title, zoom on something else. They worked. Video played fine and completely after those renderings.

Now suddenly after a bit more editing, I'd guesstimate that the last two or three seconds are clipped off. The video ends with a collage of five selected images. No problem in earlier renderings. The video appears to plays fine in the program. Running to the end of my video. But after rendering, there's some missing seconds - cutting off the last collage image

I just looked and I don't see anything to clip or constrain the ending. I even just added another photo after the collage. Still clipping at the same point - cutting off the last image in the collage. So, obviously something now terminates the video before its natural conclusion as shown in the program itself.

Ideas or suggestion on what to look for?

Hi

Is thehere a Range set, blue bar, set above the timeline and the Export selected range option in the export settings checked?

If so remove the Range by double clicking the blue bar and uncheck the option in the export settings..

BINGO!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. As usual you have been extremely helpful.

Now, might I ask: What might I have done to set that accidental range delimiter?

And, again, THANKS

@FF22 Hi.

Now, might I ask: What might I have done to set that accidental range delimiter?

It's not a 'delimiter', you can use the range for a couple of reasons, there's two [ ] buttons that set the Range, You can also left & right click where the blue range bar is to set the in & out, drag the ends of it or double click it to set it to full range. there's a play button in brackets that will loop play only the range.

There's also a box in the Movie settings that allows this Loop playing. unticked it'll play just once, ticked it'l loop play.

Your main problem is the box in the Export window, If you want to only export the range tick the box otherwise leave it unticked & check it's not ticked each time you export.

Hi

To add to Gid's comment.

When working at the end of your project you may have accidentally pressed the end of range icon ] instead of the play range icon [⫸]. That then would have set the export to end at that point if combined with the export command to 'Export selected range only' option.

Ray.

Hi

To add to @Gid amd @CubeAce comment:

The range can also be set using the I and O keys. If you accidentally caught the O key while adjusting the collage at the end of the movie it would set a range from the start of the timeline to where the timeline marker is in the collage.

At some time, not necessariliy in the current project, you must also have checked the Export selected range option in the export settings - by default this is off until you turn it on and then it holds that setting through subsequent projects until you turn it off again.

@Gid @johnebaker @CubeAce

All Very Helpful. In all my years of sporadically using the program, I guess I've never run into this. It was fairly exasperating. I'd drag the last element longer, shorter, add another photo after it. Open and close the program. Render and still clipped. I looked over all the tracks looking for some marker or other. Of course, I did not notice that thin blue line at the upper left of the timeline. Even when I looked after being told about it, it was still not obvious.

Again, thanks.
