VIDEO DELUXE MX, Version 18 problems with data import

Hey everyone,

a hopefully not too stupid question, I have only recently started using Video Deluxe MX, version 18, installed on a 64-Bit computer using Windows 10. When I try to do certain things - use an mp4 file for editing, to give a recent example - I am asked to register the product. If I agree, I get an error message:

This serial number has already been registered to another email address. Please contact MAGIX Support.

Error Code: -24

My post here is basically to follow this piece of advice ... This product may have in fact been registered to another person's email address, but I am not sure about that.

Maybe anyone of you has an idea what to do? Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Alexander,and welcome to the Magix Video Deluxe user to user forum.

In this particular instance I don't think we or the Magix staff can help you if the previous owner is still in charge of the registration email address.

You need to get in contact with that person. Be prepared to accept you may have been scammed.

Assuming you purchased the program 'used' or at a ridiculously cheap price - this may well be.

However there may be other issues

. . . .  Video Deluxe MX, version 18 . . . .

With this version, which was released in 2011, if you get this sorted you are likely to hit other issues - VideoDeluxe MX is not guaranteed to work correctly on Windows 10 - the first issue you may have is with any DVD/Blu-Ray burner not being recognised.

Actually it was a gift from my father which I hadn't started using until recently. Whenever I was notified of a previous registration, I concluded he had registered it under his address before, though I'm not so sure about that anymore.

Anyway, this version has worked okay so far, but given what you said I will consider getting another one to use on my computer if such problems should keep arising.
