Video Deluxe 2015 Premium licence revalidation error

antimix wrote on 10/16/2016, 5:45 PM

Hello,

two weeks ago, I started Video Deluxe 2015 Premium, and suddenly it said that the licence needed to be validated (!!). It was installed, validated and used since months, so this request to revalidate the progam was a surprise for me. The program prompted with my email, and Serial (all prefilled as default).

I noticed that the email field WAS WRONG, containg my old email address (around June I changed my email address, and so I had updated my Magix web account details. But this was months before, and now we are in October) . So I changed it with my current new email, and clicked on the REGISTER & ACTIVATE ONLINE.

I got a new warning, telling that the email address was changed and a side effect could be that the licence would not be assigned any more to the PC. Options: to maintain the new one, or to revert to the old.

I reverted to the old and press REGISTER. After few seconds of rolling wheel, I got the message that registration failed (-24) because the serial number has been registered with another email address, and to contact Magic Support.

Well I though, it is the old one, I will put the new one. I repeated the process.

I got again the warning message telling that the email address was changed and a side effect could be that the licence would not be assigned any more to the PC. Options: to maintain the new one, or to revert to the old. This time I select to maintain the new.

I got the rolling wheel for few seconds, and than the wheel stopped to rotate, and Video Deluxe frozen completely.

After several minutes, I noticed that was dead. Only CTRL-ALT-DEL and Task Manager could terminate the dead application.

That is. There is no way to activate Video Deluxe.

Any attempt with the current email cause the crash. I uninstalled and reinstalled the application several time, always with the same results. The application does not start, and needs to validate the license, but then it crash.

I opened a ticket to Magix Support, and they did not answer a single word in a week, till now......

Apart from improving they customer support, I expect they do something to solve the revalidate issue, since the application is not working any more, and I could not revalidate my money for the licence ....

I am not sure if this can be a part of the issue, but the week before, arrived the big Windows 10 Anniversary Update, and this is the first time I run Video Deluxe after the upgrade. However XARA Design works well.

May be the update installed so many new things that the Magix licence validator does not work any more...

- Any clue ? MAGIX... where are you ... ?

Regards

Hi

. . . . I am not sure if this can be a part of the issue, but the week before, arrived the big Windows 10 Anniversary Update, and this is the first time I run Video Deluxe after the upgrade. . . . .

That is quite possible, the Anniversay update has caused issue with all my previous versions of MEP from 17 through to 2015.

Try the following:

Right click the shortcut/menu item for MEP and select Run as administrator

OK the Do you want to allow this App to make changes dialog and then try registering the software with the new email address.

However this is not a permanent fix as you will have to Run as administrator every time you want to use the program.

If the above works then the Anniversary update has messed up the file permissions the only way to fix this may be to re-install the software using this procedure.

Make sure to reinstall and register your software then when you start program Magix should check your valid activation by itself when you allow them to do so.

I tried also the described procedure.

All was ok, there were no error on the file system.

However Video Deluxe 2015 still does not start.

Hello thanks for the answers. None of them was the solution.

The solution was behind the scenes of MAGIX data center. MAGIX Team simply added a new installation licence slot "et voilà" Video Deluxe did not crash any more and validated the serial correctly. Now it works.

Ahhh....I forgot to tell that the Mainconcept MPEG4 Codec Encoder Licence does not work any more, but now I know what to do, and I opened another ticket to MAGIX ....
