This depends on what type of system you are running go to your computer icon and right click.

go to the bottom and press properties

this gives you all the information on your computer

I expect it says 32bit.

Magix Pro13is more comfortable with a 64 bit This makes the program run faster

I expect that when you are capturing the information it is faster than it is writing to your drive.

look on the  capture device make sure that it is not dropping frames. and mark the capture to slow.

Hi

We need more information on your computer specification (that is how fast it is, how much memory it has and which version of Windows)

On your desktop you have an icon (picture) which says Computer (or My Computer) - point to this icon with the mouse and then click the right mouse button a menu will pop up as shown in this image

Click on Properties with the left mouse button.  This will open a window with all the information we need on it - this is the window for my computer - we need the information from your computer for the things I have circled in the image.

What are the project settings you are using for the movie - in Movie Edit Pro with the project loaded, press the E key to bring up this information - the bit we need is the Video setting - near the bottom of the window that opens.

The videos you have imported into the movie - are they High Definition ?  What camera was used to record the video?

HTH

John

@PeterDore

Can you please refer to MEP 2013 in full - it causes confusion using the abbreviated form MEP13 as there are still a few users who are on the old versions of MEP - the oldest version I know of, still being used, is MEP 11.

Thanks

John

My response I have an IBM Laptop (very old - but reliable)

Ok Windows XP

Intel (R) Pentium R M Processor 1500MHz

598 MHz, 512MB of RAM

I have the Movie Edit Pro 2013

I am loading the videos from DVD (not high def) and I have some that I need to import from my video camera which is loaded from a media card onto Real Time Player - I need to know how to transfer them onto Movie Edit Pro also

I hope this helps....

Hi

I need to import from my video camera which is loaded from a media card

What is the make and model of video camera?

Unfortunately I think you are going to struggle with MEP 2013, and virtually any other video editing software for that matter, on the laptop.

The specification for it is below the minimum recommended by Magix (and for many other video editing software).
