Vegas Movie Studio 17 locked me out wtih "no license to use software"

For some reason, Vegas Movie Studio 17 shut down and will not let me log in. I get "error code 51" then "no license to use software" but nowhere to input my serial number. I have rebooted to no avail. I'm dead in the water with a pending deadline. I'm using a PC with Windows 10.
