Hi! I have troubles installing VMS 16 platinum, I followed this tutorial https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/opening-avi-files--106440/?page=2#ca659227 but I still have the problem. Product was bought on Humble Bundle. I tried to a)install it first with other software (Music Maker etc.) then b) I removed all Magix and Vegas directories, registries and programs, restart computer, used cc cleaner, tried to c)install only VMS 16. Then I repeated step b and tried c again. I had similar issues with VMs 15 in the past but I managed to overcome it.
