@Stuart-Bowie

Welcome to the Magix forums.

 What do I do to overcome this?

As a start, please read this post and give us ALL the information requested there, including the exact version of RYVT which you have. Thank you.

One thing to check: since you say the software keeps asking me to connect the video player, this suggests that the USB dongle is not being recognised, most usually because incorrect drivers, or no drivers have been installed. Assuming you are running a 64 bit operating system you need the 64 bit drivers.

However, first things first: please tell us all about your computer and its hardware, as per that post.

Thanks. I'm using a PC running Windows 10 version 1909. Intel Core 3220 cpu @3.3Ghz. 4GB Ram. 64 bit processor. I tried downloading the 64 bit driver from Magix site but it has made no difference.

Hi John. I have the black device K0065. I've since found advice which said that there were no drivers for this model and that consequently it probably would not work with Windows 10. It was suggested that a driver for K0067 might work. I downloaded this driver and my video player is now recognised. I've had one trial at uploading a video to my computer which seemed to work though I have yet to discover in what format as it would not then play in Windows Media Player or VLC. Thanks for the help. Overall trying to use RYVT has been a dismal experience, not remotely "The easiest way....". Had I know in advance I would never have bought this product.

@Stuart-Bowie

Hi

Thanks for letting us know the good outcome.

IIRC RYVT records in a proprietary Magix video format.

Once you have recorded the video in RYVT, and after any editing needed, you then you can :

  1. export the video as a mp4 video file - this is the most universal format for playback on a computer or TV that support video file playback

    and/or

  2. burn to DVD.

The manual available under Help should take you through the process of finishing the movie.
