There are a few problems with current update of MM that need fixing :-
1 - When I close Music Maker it decides to reopen itself....TWICE !!!!
2. I cannot access samples from my computer unless they are in a soundpool recognized by Music Maker (a lot are not) . Why can I not access my computer files when using Magix - I can currently only import Audio tracks from a CD .
3. I save a project and when I return to Music Maker later it does not say I have worked on that project most recently
@nickconstant That's odd. I never encountered the first problem. For your second problem I would suggest you drag and drop all audio files from Windows Explorer into your project if they are not accessible through the Loops tab. You could also use an external sample manager. The third problem sounds like your Music Maker cannot save the program settings correctly. Does this problem also appear if you run Music Maker as administrator?
I can't answer your first question, except to say I have very occasionally seen MM 2022 re-open ONCE after I have closed it, but have never been able to pin down why!
Samples that are not in Magix Soundpool format must be dragged to the MM workscreen and manually placed where you want to use them. Soundpools have additional data embedded within them that MM needs to see in order to "understand" them; non-soundpool samples lack that data.
For your third question; on the initial splashscreen, once the app is fully open but before the workscreen appears, you should see the following: Notice the item I have highlighted.

Thanks for replies - I am using latest updated version . Music Maker reopens about half the time once and half the time twice - I think this happens every time I close Music maker . Jeff - on the splash screen all my other projects I have worked on are listed in correct order of use , only the most recent project is not listed

Sorry to be pedantic, but we really do need the exact version and build number of your software, as requested by @johnebaker
As to why the latest project is not being listed, I honestly don't know! I've seen a similar problem occur at times in Magix' video editing products, but never in MM.

Which antivirus program are you using?
Try resetting Music Maker - File, Settings, Reset program settings - do note this will reset any folder and other customisation settings you have made.

so this is what happens when you update. On exit I get error report or program wont close as well as distorted sound, no real change to interface, have to wait to get logged back in, god only knows what other stuff ups are installed, seriously MMM developers should be all sacked. Can't they ever get it right?. btw I know what,s going on with my PC I should of stayed with the previous patch ---------44. as it worked well enough

The Muma location error -usually means there is an external audio interface ASIO driver mismatch.
If you have an external USB audio device then disconnect the device before starting Music Maker.
Once MMM is started, plug the device and in the Program settings Audio/Midi tab select the devices own ASIO driver - not the Magix Low Latency driver.

Kept on getting this as well, but the program was not running. The update on my PC was a complete disaster. Crashed just doing simple effect edits, scratchy sound, exiting then restarting, unplugging/plugging the usb interface just so it would exit without an error message to be able to reload the program. Unplugged replaced all cables, used different interface's, nothing worked !. What I noticed there was no real real benefit changes to the lay out. This so called update is a waste of time.
Only way to resolve the issues so as to get the program to run smoothly again was to do a system restore to the previous patch ----- - 44, which I am happy to say was successful and runs well for me. I use MusicMaker mainly to shape tunes with samples, for recording I use other programs.
I doubt I will ever update again.
