Using network share to monitor folder

HI,

I am using Foto Manager Deluxe MX, and I want to add my pictures to the database that are stored on a NAS device. I have a network share to the drive on the NAS with administrator rights so I can access everything. When I want to enter the drive through Database --> Monitor folder, I can add the drive or subfolders, but it doesn't update the database. When I go back to Database --> Monitor folder, the folder I just selected is not there anymore.

When I do the same action with a local folder, it works perfectly fine.

Any ideas what's going wrong here?

Thanks!

Hi

This could be a permissions error on the folders you are trying to access from Photo Manager.

Which permissions are required depend on how the NAS device folders are setup.

Alternatively:-

Try sharing the root folder of the images on the NAS box, setting the Share permission and the Security settings for Authenticated Users to Read, Write, Modify and then try using the UNC path ie  \\NASbox name\Shared folder name in Photo Manager.

HTH
