Hi,

but this is not a question of programs - it is a question of format and used media.

Did you record Sky Plus on VHS and what format you want use on your media centre?

If it is VHS, no problem. You can record it on your PC and convert it to a digital format, e.g. MPEG2

Hi,

the problem is that this is a question of try out. I simply do not know if the program has any DRM (Digital Rights Management) or is coded in a way making it unable to convert. The Rescue product is usually used for converting analouge to digital....Did you try to record it with an other source e.g. VHS player?

Hi,

If you can get an analog video signal from the PVR (e.g. via SCART), there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to feed it into the video capture hardware. It's exactly the same use case as recording the analog signal from a VHS recorder. You might even want to look into the possibility of transferring the recordings from your PVR directly (and digitally) into the computer, i.e. copying the MPEG-2 files from the PVR's hard drive onto the computer's hard drive via a data cable and importing them directly into the video editing software for further processing. This way you're getting around the whole rigmarole of analog recording, which by its very nature is an extremely long-winded and tedious process.
