Using 32 bit VST on a 64 bit system on Samplitude Music Studio 2015

duffylaudick wrote on 10/19/2014, 11:23 AM

Hopefully this is has an easy answer.

I just bought a new computer with Windows 8.1 64bit.  I have also bought Samplitude Music Studio 2015.  I have transfered all my old VST's instruments and effects that I love to use to the new computer and all of them are for 32bit systems.  Is there any way I can get them to work on the 64bit system?  I've already checked and there are not 64bit versions of these VST synths.

Thanks for your help!

you need Samplitude Pro X, Samplitude Pro X has a Bridge . You can take 32bit and 64bit Plugins in one Projekt.

Thanks for the info.  I did some hard core research after asking this question.  I found a download you can buy for about $19.00 called jBridge.  This software will allow you to run 32bit vst's on a 64bit system.  I'm going to try it out.  It's far cheap than upgrading to the Samplitude Pro X which is $500.

For those who are wondering, there is 32bit version of studio 2015 that will run on Windows 8.1.  It will also recognize the 32 bit VSTis.

Good day,
Please let me know if EZ drummer3, which is 64bit, will work in Samplitude Pro X Silver 32bit?
Thank you

@Martin-Moris

Hi

You must have the same 'bitness' of VST to program, so a 64 bit VST will not work in a 32 bit program.

jBridge would be of no help as it works one way ie allows 32 bit VST's to work in 64 bit programs.

@johnebaker

Hi John.

Actually jBridge can be used both ways! Its initial running screen asks whether the user is running a 32 bit or 64 bit host, and then allows the selection of the appropriate "set" of VSTs (and/or VSTis) to create the bridge so that 32 bit plugs can run in a 64 bit environment and vice versa.

@Martin-Moris Is EZdrummer 3 VST3 only? This will not work with jBridge. There is another tool called VST3Shell, which will wrap VST3 plugins in a VST2 shell. But I have not tested it, and don't now if it will work.

You can also use metaplugins like Plogue Bidule, which can load different plugins formats at once.

Samplitude Pro X4 Silver is 64 bit, if you want to update your version. It is free. http://dl04.magix.net/2019/SamplitudeProX4Silver/Program/SamProX4_Silver_INT_200121_07-59.exe
