Used Pro12 for years. Now get license error message and can't save

I use SoundForge Pro 12 for some of my podcast recording/editing. All of a sudden I am getting an error message saying "there is no license to use this software" and I cannot save my edited files. I have a podcast a week to get out, and I need the audio to be able to stay on schedule.

@Terry-McGuire I found this response from customer support.

It looks like they found leftover code from Sony in Sound Forge 12 that can, under rare circumstances, trigger the copy protection. It seems like this problematic code was only removed in later Sound Forge versions.

They say you can save your recordings temporarily as Sound Forge project file which can be opened again at a later time as a workaround.

After that, completely uninstall SF12 and reinstall it.

Alternatively you need to get a later version of Sound Forge.
