upload to media issues

jeremy-curry wrote on 7/30/2021, 5:58 AM

Hi, when I try to upload media, I'm asked if I have copyright, I know I can post my music still, but the post button is faded out like I missed a checkbox. How can I solve this please. If we can post media than why does it require me to say I have copyright, pretty confusing. Thanks

@jeremy-curry Does it help if you try it with a different browser?

Hello, Welcome

Check and make sure you have entered track title, track description, uploaded non copyright image and chosen genre tags.

Also tick box "Yes I own the copyright to this work and I agree to it being published in the Community"

Many free non copyright images/photos/videos can be found at Pixabay.com

Hi

. . . . If we can post media than why does it require me to say I have copyright, pretty confusing. . . .

In a nutshell:-

  1. Video and images - this must be your own recordings and/or creation, use of video and images from the Internet is not permitted unless you have written permission from the Copyright owner, or the video/image is specified as free to use either under the Creative Commons licence or with an attribution requirement - claiming it is in the 'public domain' is not sufficient - someone, or entity, still owns copyright.

    Pixabay is a good source of free to use media.

    You should also state the source of the image/video used and post any attribution that is requested by the creator.

  2. Audio/music - much the same as for video/images, however there are limitations/issues on where you are uploading to and if you are using them for commercial gain.

    Uploading to the forum Media section is not an issue providing you have not copied a riff or unique 'sound' from another audio source that may be copyrighted - any images or video clips you use come under item 1.

    Uploading to Youtube or other such sites which have advertising, or for commercial gain, is not allowed unless you have purchased Commercial licences for all the Soundpools you have used. Even with commercial licences you may get copyright claims from other users, entities and scrapers - this is inevitable when using Soundpool loops.

@jeremy-curry

By ticking the copyright box you are simply stating you are not using anyone else's music. Eg Musician under record label or contract.

Magix has the copyright of your loops but not the copyright of your own created work.

Magix copyright means you could not sell the Loops to another person.

If you do not tick the copyright box, the Post button will not show.

@johnebaker the video is non commercial and the visualizer is free to use, so if I don't see the problem. do I need to mention the visualizer site in the post?

jeremy-curry wrote on 7/30/2021, 6:38 AM

@PATIENT-X I checked the copyright box and still couldn't click the post button

Hello

When you choose video file there will be a blue progress bar showing upload status, it may take a while depending on the video size and your ISP speed, once completed the Post button will appear.

@jeremy-curry

Hi

The progress bar is at the bottom of the square uploading box area.

See screenshot below of my video progress upload:

The progress line is below my video which is almost complete.

Do you see blue progress bar below my video?
