The reason why I'm in a panic is they gave me 4 days to upgrade at a discounted price

@chuck-weatherby Don't panic. The upgrade prices should be more or less forever that low. It's just that in 4 days the additional bonus software can change.

You can select a physical backup CD at the checkout for an additional fee but if your computers are connected to the internet it's a waste of money because you can redownload the installers from your user account if you want.

Thanks for the info. I haven't used it in a long time and now it's obsolete, I was worried the upgrade would only work on one PC (there's usually a catch somewhere) and I wanted a physical copy so I could put it on a new PC. I had no idea about a user account, haha. Again, thanks

So I tried to get the upgrade today, 1. there was no option to get a physical copy, 2. my serial number wasn't accepted for the upgrade offer. And I still have no idea how to actual contact Magix, I can't even fine the option to create a ticket. This is day 4, and also the day the offer ends. If someone who works at Magix happens to be reading this, could you end this?

Chuck, let me see if I can help. A few questions, have you created an account on magix yet? After that, did you try adding the old registration code from 7 into your account?

When you are logged into your account, there is an option called "Create activation code", there you add the serial number of version 7.

If you have done all of that, here is the email address to magix support.: support@magix.net

I hope it works for you. Acid Pro is a heck of a DAW and hopefully you can use it.

and no, you don't have to have a CD. Once you download the application on one PC, go to Documents, find magix downloads, the downloaded file will be in there. you can burn that on a disk yourself and put that on any pc (I think you get 2 simultaneous activations).

I finally got it to work and the price went up from $99-$126. Gonna look into reaper or a company with customer service, thanks for your help

Hey Chuck, sorry you had to pay extra. But I wouldn't trust reaper either as back when I got with Acid's 8th version & got frustrated, I did try reaper myself, their response-to-customer wasn't all that great either. However, if you are an old Acid Pro user, I hate to say it, Acid's ease of use will not be there in reaper. Other DAWs are miles behind when it comes to looping/browser/painting and stuff. Acid is a monster of a DAW (just needs fixing) I would recommend not making the same mistake I made switching DAWs as you have already paid for Acid. Aside from wasting more money, it only puts you back a year or two. I'd stick to Acid Pro unless you will be doing a lot of Midi stuff. I found myself keep coming back to it since 2007 wandering around in other DAWs. Good luck, mate.
