Upgrading and preserving work

I upgraded from music studio 2015 too Samplitude music studio 2015. However, I have tried to bring in music tracks but I have already worked on in the previous software to the Samplitude software and it's not working. Work done on tracks in the previous software like edits, volume settings, splices, etc. are not brought into the new software just the wrong wav files. So all my previous work is lost. I opened a case with Magix and was told this "Unfortunately, we do not guarantee compatibility between versions".

What is this 1985? Your software doesn't support upgrading? Upgrades that you suggest I take? Does anybody know a way around us but I can bring my old music into the new version of the software and retain all my work? Otherwise I need to start looking for a different program and get off this software?

Hi Mark,

No, it's 1984 and Big Brother NSA is watching you.

I can't replicate your problem. I open the demo in Music Studio 2015 (MS). It contains a lot of volume automation. I saved it with a new name.

Then I opened it in Samplitude Music Studio 2015 (SMS), and everything was there.

I created a new project in MS, added some loops, recorded my voice, added some volume automation and some effects. Saved it, opened it in SMS, and everything was still there. No differences whatsoever.

You say that SMS is bringing in the wrong wave files? I don't see how this is possible unless you have duplicate names but different content wav files somewhere, but even then... Are you sure that you are opening the correct VIP in SMS?

To open the MS VIP with SMS, I navigate to the MS folder where my VIP was saved, and select it. Then I save the SMS project to the SMS folder with a new name.

Lastly, check that you have the latest patches for both products.
