Upgraded to Sound Forge Pro 14 and have preference and layout issues

Anyone else have any of these issues? Upon updating to Sound Forge Pro 14 I have had several issues unresolved by restarts or reinstallaiton.

1. View layout is not remembered. I get everything arranged the way I like it. Close Forge, reopen... boom it's all gone again. I tried to save a layout. OK, all good, it was switching between the default and my layout no problem. Close Forge... boom my saved layout is gone. I hope I can solve this, otherwise this update is pretty worthless I'm afraid.

2. In past versions I would set up all the VST plug ins and do the scan. Some fail, no surprises there I know there are some problem children and they have been for a while now. But in SF 13 and before I would go thru the process and once I had done that and clicked all the little error boxes that pop up I could go into preference and tell Forge to ignore them and not try to load them. Now with version 14 it happens everytime I open the application. Even if I've told it to ignore those problem VSTs, it scans them anyway and opening Forge becomes at least a 5 min process.

Anyone else? Any ideas I'm missing?

Thanks.

Richard

Oh I forgot one.

Small item, "Show Textured Background" is still in the preferences as a check box but when you check it, it doesn't work. You see it briefly when flipping between layouts but then it's covered up. Not a big deal but I always liked that look rather then just the black hole background.

Have you saved and reloaded one of your custom layouts "View> Window Layouts" ?

"Show Textured Background on Workspace" has not worked since Pro 12 I think (maybe pro 11) The developers are and have been aware of it...

Thanks again! That seems to have fixed it. Here is what I did so others can know that seems to have worked.

1. Set up Layout I liked.

2. Saved a Layout under the View|Windows Layouts drop down menu. And assigned it to a slot for quick recall

3. Closed Forge

4. Reopen Forge, it goes back to Magix's default

5. Go to the View|Windows Layout menu, Go to Organize Layouts. A new dialog box pops up. Now I see the file for the Layout I saved.

6. Assign that layout to one of the shortcut keys

7. Click OK, close that dialog and then go back to View|Windows Layout and recall the Layout you just saved. Or use the shortcut key.

8. Now close Forge

9 Reopen Forge and it seems to open to that layout I prefer now.

Not sure what happened here, I don't remember ever having to go thru all this in the past. Or maybe my memory is just faulty.

Guess I just never noticed till now that textured background stopped working. LOL Maybe just get rid of the option if doesn't work? :-)
