Upgrade won't install C++ Redistributable

My machine is running Windows 11 with 23H2 x64 update installed

When I try to upgrade from Acid Music Studio version 11.0.7 (Build 18) to version 11.0.10 (Build 21) I get error messages:

The following components are required by this software.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64)

Click Install to begin installing required components.

Version 11.0.10 (Build 21)

After clicking install.

ERROR: -2147163967 occurred during installation.

ERROR: Failed to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64)

What's wrong and how is it repaired, as I want to have the latest version of Acid Music Studio?

@glenn-riley Your computer already has the 2013 Redistributables installed. The installer can't handle this, for some reason. You can uninstall the 2013 Redistributables from Windows Apps and Features and the installer should be able to reinstall them and finish the update.

It would be a pretty simple thing for the installer to handle this without baffling the user with useless error messages, but thanks your suggestion worked.

@glenn-riley Yeah, it should handle it. The last version of Acid Music Studio 11 is from early 2019. I'm not sure if this problem already existed back then or if it was introduced by newer Windows versions. Acid development was stopped in early 2020, so no updated installers since then.

Any ideas if the above doesn't work.. in my case? I've tried every combo I can think of with above info , reinstalls, updates immediately, or when shut down, etc.

Cheers and may the Music Season be 24/7/365 !

I've had same problem on Win 11, and "none" of the forum fixes have worked for me... I've tried them all, 5-10 times.....

My suggeston, create support ticket and ask Magix for "updated" direct link for AMS11.... no update and 2013 mess required......

Hope it helps.
