Upgrade to new 2024 Version?

Tim_Robertson wrote on 8/14/2023, 3:18 AM

I recently brought the Movie Studio 2023 Suite(Version 22.0.3.172) at the end of April 2023, I received the 1st program update no long after installation, but no new updates since buying the program. Now the 2024 version of Movie Studio Suite has been released, will my version be automatically updated to the 2024?

*As my 2023 Music Maker Premium version was, which was also purchased around the same time.

The reason I ask is that it keeps coming up with an advertisement to purchase the new 2024 version, whenever I try to update the program - Whatever happened to the 12 months of support & updates with the program upon purchase or do you only get one after initial installation and nothing else???

The 12 months update service got dropped years ago. Magix shifted back to yearly releases.

You don't only get one update. It might look like this because you bought version 2023 very late in its life. But at this time it already included all updates from mid 2022 until the end of April 2023.

I suggest to simply close and disable the advertisment. It is usually not necessary to upgrade yearly.

Music Maker works differently. It is a free software, that is why you can download version 2024 for free.

Music Maker "Premium" version is not a Free Software, which is the 2023 version I bought the week before - *Which was also updated to the 2024 Premium Music Maker version once it become available.

@Tim_Robertson The Premium Edition is not a software but a collection of paid DLC for Music Maker. Music Maker itself is free.

Yeah @SP... they do have a free version of the program, but "the paid premium program" has far more features, bells and whistles to play with when actually writing/ producing music and songs than the 'free version' provides.

Agreed, but do be aware that you now actually have the 2024 Basic Edition with the added benefit of the 2023 Premium Features! IOW, any new 2024 Premium features are available ONLY to those users choosing to pay for the 2024 Upgrade.
