Upgrade MX Plus to MEP 2014 Plus?

I have been using MEP Pro MX Plus (18) since it came out. I keep getting emails asking me to upgrade to MEP 2014 plus, however having had quite a few versions of MEP I have found some are "buggy" compared to others. (Some have been terrible)

The one I have now runs fairly well, so am wondering if there is really any great advantage to upgrading? I don't really like the idea of video/audio on the same track although I know you can separate them that alone might be annoying. I also use Sony Vegas (11 Platinum) but usually only use it because it has some effects that Magix doesn't and usually I can output (render) a WMV using Vegas which looks as good but is smaller. Somehow Vegas seems to run much smoother without crashing or glitches but I don't like some of the editing features.

Would be interested in user feedback comparing these two.

Thanks for any opinions.

Eric

Hi Eric,

I have used the trial for MEP 2014 and the biggest difference I found was a huge increas in file export speed as well as rendering speed for playback.

I have both the same version as you and also MEP Pro 2013.  When I upgraded to 2013,I was a little disappointed...no real big difference, except the extras. I tried the Trial version of 2014: it's faster rendering and preview, etc.,but other than that, nothing much worth upgrading for. I uninstalled the trial version, and didn't bother to upgrade.  If you're happy with your current version, and patient enough to wait just a bit longer for rendering speeds, etc.,I see no real reason to upgrade!  The whole program needs to change drastically in future versions before I'd consider buying again!   Have a Merry Christmas!        Ray
