Updating Sound Forge

Hi Peeps,

Is it possible to simply update an existing Sound Forge install to the latest version?

I currently have Sound Forge Pro Version 12.1 (Build 170) 64-bit

I believe that the latest version is 12.6, is that correct?

I have been to the appropriate download section but as I go the the process of installing that it asks me to uninstall my original product first.

I was hoping I could just run an update rather than a new install.

cheers,

andy

@synkrotron

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Sometimes, updates can be installed without the necessity for the installer to remove earlier versions; sometimes, perhaps because of major changes to the app, a prior uninstall of the older version is needed. Iit seems, you have encountered the second option!

However, given that SF Pro is now at version 14 it might well be worth your while to check that you have not actually downloaded the installer for this version. If so, this is not an update but rather a paid upgrade and your current serial number will almost certainly not work and you will have a non-functioning app!

Hi Jeff 🙂

Thank you for your swift reply 👍

It definitely was the V12 installer, but I have since found out that V12.1 is the latest stable build for my version of Pro. I think the V12.6 version I was seeing was in fact for the "Audio" version.

cheers,

andy 🙂
