Update notifier

Hi,

Magix Movie Edit Pro 2021 Plus, version 20.01.1.80 (UDP3)

Getting this error from "Update Notifier" on boot up since updating Windows to 21H1.

Windows 10 Pro 21H1 build: 19043.1110

Device name   ASUS Prime-Z490-A-i5
Processor   Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10600K CPU @ 4.10GHz   4.10 GHz
Installed RAM   32.0 GB (31.9 GB usable) DDR4
System type   64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Graphics card: ASUS GEForce GT 710, 2GB DDR5

Thanks Jeff,

Disabled it in startup, as advised in the thead that you linked to. The ony problem is when I start up Movie Edit Pro 2021 Plus, it runs Update Notifier checks for updates, the same error comes back.

As stated in the comment @emmrecs linked to the Update Notifier does run on program start and check for updates.

The error message would suggest that something on the computer is blocking access for the Update Notifier accessing the Internet or there is a permissions issue.

Try the following:

Run the program as an Administrator - right click the program shortcut and select Run as administrator - if this works then there is a permissions setting issue in Windows
Disable your antivirus / firewall for a few minutes while starting the program if that works then you need to check the settings of the AV/Firewall to allow the program to access the Internet- you may also have to add exceptions for Realtime scanning and Folder protection access.

The error message does not stop the program from working and can be ignored, if you do not want to check item 2.
