Domenic-DApice wrote on 7/12/2020, 12:04 AM

Just updated to Magix Music Maker Premium 64 bit , It recognised my insrtrument purchases and soundpools. All soundpools installed and loaded but My instruments only installed but wasn't able to open them or add them to the track.. The update also generatred a different serial number. I also keep entering the serial number and Magix tells me that I already have the content. The 3 more free instruments install but don't open .

Hi and welcome to the forum.

. . . . The update also generatred a different serial number. I also keep entering the serial number and Magix tells me that I already have the content . . . .

The new version has a new serial number, and although the starup dialog may suggest it, once entered and are logged into the Store, you do not need to enter it again.

. . . . My instruments only installed but wasn't able to open them or add them to the track . . . .

Try logging out of the store, restart Music Maker (MMM) then log in to the store again - also see the pinned bug list for MMM 2021 at the top of the Audio forum.

I owned the Magix Music Maker Premium 2020 . I purchased the update for the 64 bit . The logging out of Music Maker and logging back in did not help with my issue. I have unistalled everything and soundpools and the whole content in Windows unistall. Re-installed the new edition update and entered the activation code . Again from a fresh start . All my content from previous purchased downloaded and during the installation of the instruments it appears as if it was repairing and once on the instrument pad the instruments did not load. Also was wondering about xPand2 64 bit no sound . Was eager to upgrade for 64 bit plugins.

Can I suggest you remove the first screenshot you posted since it includes your personal email address, which should never be posted to a public forum like this one?

As @johnebaker has pointed out to you, you are not alone in experiencing a number of problems with the new version of Music Maker.

I am not sure whether your decision to attempt an uninstall and reinstall may be a factor contributing to the extent of the problem you are seeing, i.e. apparently very few instruments showing. The standard Windows Uninstaller does not remove everything connected with the program, and even removing all the previously-installed content is not guaranteed to be successful in attempting to correct errors and problems.

No!

Unless you are prepared to risk editing your computer's Registry, you will not get rid of all the previous Music Maker installation. Any number of such entries are created or modified every time you run the app. These are the items that the Windows installer knows nothing about and so does not remove them. Any attempt at a reinstall without first removing those entries is almost certain to fail, or at best the app runs with all kinds of problems.

Since you seem to have already attempted the complete uninstall the only possible route I can suggest to you is that you download and install Revo Uninstaller. The basic version is free but the paid for Pro version is well worth the expense if you need it.

Once installed, start it and set it to find anything connected with Magix Music Maker. If MM is the only Magix app you have then you can assume anything it finds is related to that app and so, after you have carefully checked each item it is listing for you, you should be OK to allow it to delete anything it finds. If you have ANY OTHER MAGIX APP installed you will need to check especially carefully any and every item it lists, both files, folder and registry entries, before you allow it to remove them. The basic message is: if in doubt, don't delete it!

Unfortunately, by your previous attempts to uninstall and reinstall you may have created many additional problems for yourself. 😭

Your right deleted all traces freed up about 15 G . Reinstalled the 2021 upgrade and same issue all over again. Just the DN-E1 installed from the Instruments. The rest seem to download and repair. and ' !! ' appears on top of the instrument from the insrument tab. Spent too much time gave up . Contacted support .
