Uninstall and Harmony column values

ZenZone1 wrote on 4/7/2018, 9:39 AM

After the patch update to version 25.1.2.78 Activate Edition, the Harmony column in the Soundpool window only displays blank fields; it no longer shows the pitch values. The only workaround at the moment is to place the clip onto the arranger then only the pitch information is displayed. Also i can no longer uninstall it. I think uninstall and reinstall might fix the problem but says uninstall information is missing. Tried deleting the folders and then cleaning-up the registry but then it won't allow me to do a fresh install saying that a previous version still exists.

I have Music Maker Hip Hop Edition and Premium Edition in Steam, both show the pitch values in the Harmony column. However those don't have in-app store and i can't get the 7 Free Soundpools to work in it.

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

In order to fully uninstall any Magix product please read this tutorial carefully and follow the relevant parts of it very thoroughly. The standard Windows uninstall does not "work" because a number of folders etc. are created after the main installation program; it is these folders which must be removed in order to successfully reinstall the product.

The harmony column is also not showing any information for me since I ran the update. Is there any way to get to do show up again without having to do the uninstall and reinstall?

I also have the same problem. Raise a ticket with Magix. Uninstall/reinstall will not solve this.

Hi

I can also confirm this is an issue, the information appears to be in the appropriate soundpool file, looks like it is just not being read.

Further to what John EB indicated, for some reason, MM is no longer putting the information from the BPM.inf file into the Harmony (what used to be "Key" field). This is most likely a bug.

The BPM.inf file that comes with the sound pools can be opened with Notepad.

For the most part, the Soundpools are in the key of C and the mapping is:

[HarmonyTable]
Scale=C

Sample1=C
Sample2=d
Sample3=e
Sample4=F
Sample5=G
Sample6=a
Sample7=B

There are exceptions, but I don't think that there are many, so you can probably use the above until you find an exception, and the check out its mapping in the BPM.inf file. Capitalized keys are major, non-caps are minor.
