As it is not clear if you are facing the same problem other than Music Maker therefore the simple way is

try resetting the program to its default settings - File, Settings, Reset.

Please Note: All settings (if you changed any) will be back to default,

Additional tips: when we use computer we should often delete browser's history/cookies. Keep update, Adobe flash, Java, computer drivers specially graphic card and Windows for smooth performance.

thanks..it only happens in Music Maker....it does not do it all the time either..I'm reluctant to "Reset" since it will change all my other settings like you mentioned, and I have many  ''not default'' settings...

Hope your Music Maker is update.

If possible write down your settings/take screen shots or do video screen recording. After keeping all information some where safe THEN you can apply default setting.
