Unable to select the sound wave for editing after 5 minutes

Hello,

I am using sound forge pro 15 on a windows 10 pc.
I observed that the display waveform starts skipping forward after 8 minutes. The display moves faster after 15 minutes. Due to this, it is difficult to select, add, delete, copy or paste the sound. Can you please help me fix this?

Does this behavior happen with all file types.. including PCM (wav). If it only happens on MP3 and other lossy file types, enable "Always proxy compressed formats" in the "Options> Preferences> General" menu

If files types is not the issue, try resetting Sound Forge to the factory default setting which also clears the cache. The command is in the 'File' menu or launch SF whilst holding Ctrl+Shift.
If the above does on help, reinstall Sound Forge. I usually recommend using a third-party uninstaller that can clear leftover data the Win uninstaller leaves behind.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @Sanjeevamurthy-ca.

Thanks so much for your response. The marker is not moving in the same speed. I have uploaded video of what is happening since I am not familiar with the technicalities. Kindly help me.

I am not sure.. and you did not state the file types or Proxy enable.
Try enabling, "Seek cursor on playback" in the "Options" menu (shortcut: F key).
Remove or bypass any plug-ins that are running.
You might try experimenting with the playback 'Buffer' setting in "Options"> Preferences> Audio".
