Unable to record chords in Magix Music Maker

danial wrote on 6/14/2019, 10:47 PM

Recording chords is not that much complicated in MMM but when I am trying to record the chords (either through on screen keyboard or Midi controller) by turning on 3 dotted icon on keyboard, in Vita or in any other instrument the midi recorded track only shows few recorded keys only for a one minor second at very start of initial recording time. Nothing else is recorded in that track. Where as If I turn off the 3 dotted icon on keyboard everything function back normally n the midi track is recorded. What am I doing wrong??

It works fine on my system. My guess is that it is the old problem of midi and internal soundcards which seems to be a hit and miss affair. I use an external audio interface and ASIO driver which cures the usual problems with midi.

@graham-hawker but I am not using any kind of Midi controller. I am trying to record with on screen magix keyboard. Will the problem still prevails?

problem fixed by changing midi setting to ASIO DirectX Full Duplex

Just to clarify - I said external audio interface (and using the Magix keyboard) not external midi controller. In the end the only way I get consistent results with midi, whether recording or playback is to use my Edirol audio interface for sound. Somethings work better with ASIO drivers and internal soundcards but it's never been a perfect solution.
