Two Problems With AUDIO REC Function

I am having a couple of problems with the AUDIO REC function in Music Maker (64-Bit) Version 30.0.6.53 running on Windows 10 Version 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1706).

1) The metronome goes at double-speed in RECORD mode - In a new project I switch on AUDIO REC for Track 1.  I click on the metronome button and press play to hear the click-track, which I use to set the required BPM.  However, when I press the RECORD button, the metronome plays at double the rate it did when I was using the PLAY function.  E.g. If I set the BPM at 90 in PLAY, when I press RECORD I have to change the BPM to 45 to get it at the right speed.

2) Recording stops for no reason - Having connected a microphone to the computer via an audio interface (Behringer UMC404HD) and extended the end marker on the bar ruler so it doesn’t stop recording, I press RECORD to record guitar or vocals via the mic. At first it works fine, but after 28 or 29 seconds the frequency signal in Track 1 comes to a sudden halt and it has obviously stopped recording, even though I have continued playing/singing for another 20 seconds past this.  I press the STOP button and the ‘missing’ frequency signal seems to appear in the object on screen.  However, when I play it back the recording stops after 28 or 29 seconds, even though the frequency signal appears on the screen to go past this.

In Audio recording set-up I have the UMC ASIO Driver (1+2) selected for Audio line-in.  I have switched between Mono and Stereo and this makes no difference to either problem.

Is this a fault with the software, in which case can it be fixed?  Or have I some settings incorrectly set?

@Christopher-Tite Try resetting the program settings via the File> Settings menu.

Thanks for that, SP. I reset the Program Settings as you suggested. At first I couldn't hear any output, but I changed the Audio playback and ASIO drivers to match my audio interface and everything worked. Both problems appear to have been resolved. However, I wanted to understand which setting had caused the problem in the first place in order to avoid it recurring, so I changed all the settings back to how I had them when the problem occurred (one at a time so I could see which one caused the problem) and... no problem occurred. So my settings are back to where they were and I am no closer to understanding what caused the problems. Oh well, at least it's fixed. Thanks for your help.
