I have made a video using purchased music and still photos. When I try to save the finished product, it only saves the music and not the the photos. Play back is a black screen with music playing. How do I include the photos in the saved video?
Dell computer, inspirion 16 plus, Intel core i7, audio download music from Amazon, still photos,
Copied all into the workplace, I can watch what I placed into the project but after I save it and replay it I only get the music. The pics are not being included in finished product.
Assuming you are using Magix Movie Studio 2024 as you still haven't really given much information to go on yet.
I do understand this is possibly your first time on a forum like this one and don't worry, either me or another user should eventually track down the problem but will need more information.
Where are the photos stored on the laptop? If on OneDrive or in a cloud server storage area they will not work correctly in the project. Any files in use must be on a drive connected to or in the laptop. I ask because you do not mention any warning dialogue when saving or opening the project.
How much free drive space is on the C: drive of the laptop? There should be at least 10GBs of free space for the program to create and move temp files while in use.
Any idea which generation Intel chip is in the laptop? There are a lot of different Dell Inspirion 16 plus, Intel core i7 laptop models.
In the program, under file / settings / Program / Device options, what are the Import, Processing, and Export options set to?
How are you exporting the project? Are you using the 'Export Movie' option, what file format are you using MP4, HEVC, AVI, etc?
First time program user and on the forum. You are correct as it is the 2024. I had the older version 12 and had to upgrade. Having trouble figuring it out.
The pics are scanned into a flash drive as well as the music. I copied each picture, 130 of them, and then added the music and vice versa. The pics seem to get deleted when I copy the music over. When I go to burn a file, it says there are no images.
In the tutorial it shows 2 lines, 1 for video or pics and the other for music etc. I only have one line.
I hit the scene overview, t8meline mode buttons and it shows the images as being in the video but when I try to save as a WMV the images do not come with it.
The computer specification you have given is not sufficient for us to advise you other than in very general terms, which may lead down the wrong path for the issues you are having.
Please provide all the computer specification details requested - see my Signature as an example of what is required.
In addition:
. . . . export, output as video file, WMV, then get an error saying the video contains no images . . .
What format are the images you are importing - download and install MediaInfo, and see the tutorial linked to in the full post for how to set MediaInfo up to get the correct data format, and analyse one of the images you are importing, the analysis method is the same for images as video, and post the results of the analysis.
Are you changing any of the export preset settings?
A screenshot of the Programs settings, Device Options tab would also help.
It's possible (seeing as you still haven't told me the age of the computer or which exact processor it is) that the Intel GPU is being seen by the program but not able to be used as how such chips work have been altered over the years and the programs can only use the newer inboard GPU chips.
To test whether this is the case, try changing the Import. Processing, Export options all to CPU. The export may take a great deal longer but if it results in you getting a file with video as well as audio then that was the problem.
If that is the case it may be possible if you have the option to change the Import. Processing, Export options to use the 'Microsoft WARP device' That may or may not work. If it does work then that should speed up the processing on export a bit more but please try changing the settings all to CPU first. That way it will not use the GPU and the video will be done using the CPU only.
For some reason it just worked. Maybe by hitting those buttons it allowed the pics to be included. I was able to burn a copy I'm MP4 and WMV. THANKS FOR RESPONDING TO MY QUESTIONS. MUCH APPRECIATED!
Just glad to see you get a result. There are only users of the program on the forums so we can understand some of the frustrations that can occur.
We are still not sure what you mean by 'hitting all those buttons' but glad to help.

Do not be put off if you do have a lower specked machine as often a workaround can be found. Everyone has a budget and not all of us have the latest or greatest setups. But it is a fact that the older the machine becomes, the less capable it will eventually become as the software gets rewritten each time for newer hardware until the day comes when a newer version of the program is no longer compatible.
