Soundforge Audio Studio purchased originally from Sony

I have a physical installation DVD, there is no version number on the disk

it is compatible with Windows 10 because it worked in my old laptop, but harddrive crashed recently

Cant install in new laptop (windows 10). Getting error message when it said it needed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, whatever that is.... "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft VC80 ATL.type="win 32". version="8.0.50727.762".publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e3b".processorArchitecture="x86" Please refer to Help and Support for further information. Not sure whose help and support---soundforge? Microsoft?

Can anyone help me figure out what to do here?

thanks !

Go to the Magix Download Center and download the version's latest build from Magix. When you enter a (valid) serial number the correct installation file can be downloaded. Any needed Redistributables are normally taken care of with the installation.

Otherwise, the version number can be ID'd by the first two or three alphanumeric characters in the serial number. For instance 15H-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx is SF Pro 10, The Magix Customer Service Sales Team can probably tell you the version.

That said, the installation discs I have encountered stated the version info.

btw, welcome to the Sound Forge forum @Diana-Seaward
