Trying to burn DVD - speed issue?

I just bought a new laptop and external dvd/bluray burner. because I like Sony Vegas, I purchased an unopened box of Movie Studio Platinum 14 with DVD Architect. I'm trying to burn a DVD (for testing purposes I'm using a Verbatim DVD+R 4.7 16x. I'm attaching 3 pics of the specs for my laptop and dvd/bluray burner with the error message I'm getting. I've read some things online about emptying the temp folder and something about checking or unchecking the 'legacy GPU rendering'? I don't know. Aftger years of finally upgrading my laptap and bluray burner, Sony Vegas changed to Magix, but I only know how to use Vegas Platinum, and now I can't get my dvds to burn. Any help would be awesome.
