Trouble when recording

When i record music in Magix is tend to get a filure message when pressing the record button as follows..

-´The size of a file can not exeed 2 gigabytes. The work will be interrupted, please distribute the audio data to variuos smaller files-   Why does this happen and how can i solve this issue!!  Thanx / Engman

Hi

We need more information:-

Windows OS version and 32 or 64 bit ?

Hard drive disc format FAT16, FAT32, NTFS?

How long are you  recording for before the message pops up?

What format are you recording in?

Hi! I use NTFS   Windows Xp  and i believe it´s 64 Bit since the computer is only one year old..! I use XP ´because it´s the best one..!!   When recording in magix, it only works the first time after starting the program, if i stop the recording and starts recording again this message appears and i have to restart, and it also seems that the program is working with something in the bakground since it seems to be loading or checking something all the time, Program is laging when this loading sequens starts and results in gaps in recorded audio if recording whn this starts..the wierd thing is that ít has been working without problems for a long time, this problem just came from nowhere!!  I am recording in Wave .! i have about half my dísc used so i have got about 60 GB on the disc free..!!!
