Trimming project causes me to lose audio.

Lunacorva wrote on 9/10/2022, 1:03 PM

Editing a project in Video Pro X. When I split and trim the project, The second clip suddenly uses audio. The audio file is still THERE, as magix is showing the waves. But when I playback the project, I can't hear anything. I've tried saving and reloading. I've checked to see if the original file has sound at that point. Nothing works.

@Lunacorva

Hi and welcome to the forum.

We need more information:

Computer specification, Windows and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Display options or Device options tab.

Download and install MediaInfo and analyse the video clip you are splitting and post the results, see this tutorial if you are not familiar with MediaInfo on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip.

@Johnebaker Thanks. Following your advice and compiling all of that right now.

"Computer specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset make/model, audio card or chipset make/model, RAM,  hard drive configuration and sizes?"

"A screen shot of the Program settings, Display options or Device options tab."

Where can I find that information as well as the status of my graphics card?

Or open Task Manager (right mouse click on the Taskbar at the bottom and select Task Manager). Click on Performance, then select CPU to see CPU make and model, and do the same for GPU. This is Win 11.
