Travel Maps

bob-gove wrote on 12/17/2023, 8:51 AM

The Magix Travel Maps video ends with the travel video saved back to Photo Story. I can't seem to get that to work. I have to save it to the folder with photos, and then load it as another photo. Am I missing something.

Hi,

Given what you said, I suspect that you just saved the view, not Start video export.

See the image:

The video is not a photo, it's a video - MP4. It goes to where you want it saved. PhotoStory takes that and displays it on the timeline. No videos or photos or audio files are actually in PhotoStory. The files have to exist first on your hard drive. PhotoStory just shows them on the timeline.

@john CB

Thanks, but something is missing. Yes, I am saving the video. But it is not going to the timeline. I have to add the MP4 file just like I would for a photo. It's doable, just not as convenient as shown in the on line HELP video.

Steps taken Start video export; the edit video in MAGIX Photostory deluxe 2024 is checked.

I have to close Travel Maps.. No map on the timeline.. I have to find the MP4 file, and add it as I would a photo.

This is does not follow the help video.

@bob-gove

When you create the exported video what is shown for you in the highlighted box below?

I very rarely use the travel Maps feature so I don't know whether the exported video has ever gone directly to the the PS Timeline but for me, I have to navigate to that specific folder to find and insert the video.

One thought: you don't actually need to close Travel Maps once the export is complete, you can simply minimise its screen to return to PS.

@emmrecs

I guess that’s what I’ll have to do in PS2024. The support video shows it being automatic when the export is finished.

Can you provide a link to that video you mention? I'd like to have a look at it.

You are in a different area, and I have to leave soon. I'll look later. Try the Basic Functions Magix Travel Maps in the Video Tutorials, Tutorial videos at a glance. Maybe this will work:

Hi,

It is supposed to work. I just tried it in my version of PhotoStory and it doesn't work there either. Tested in Movie Studio 2024 and it works. I'm sure that it works properly in VPX15.

If neither of you get the mp4 on the timeline, it's a bug. I suggest that you both raise a ticket.

HI

Travel Maps v5.0.0.500 (latest) does not work here either with Photostory 2023.

MMS 2024 and VPX 15 OK.

It is a bug.

I don't see a response from you, but two others have confirmed it as a bug. Thanks for your help..

I'd report a bug if I could figure out where to do that. I keep getting sent back to the forums.

To all if following this thread, I got a response to my post from PS support. Still not sure that it works as described in the tutorial video, but checking the box "Edit video in Magix PhotoStory 2024" does put the travel video on the timeline. Mine now show up on the top track, but it does show up.

bob-gove wrote on 12/20/2023, 3:12 PM

@@John’s baker. The issue was resolved by checking the box “Edit in PhotoStory”.

Hi Bob

I meant to remove my comment yesterday evening, after seeing your comment, I have informed Magix that the issue still exists with PS 2023 and to close my support ticket.
