Transport issue in Samplitude 11 Producer trial version

After having installed the trial program, I am unable to play back any audio track. When I select "Play" in either the dropdown menu or the transport control he cursor moves slightly, then stops. Changing settings in the transport control does not resolve the issue. How to playback?

I use the space bar to start and stop playback

I have been using Samplitude for about 10 years, and the only time I haven't come across this, but I also have not used the trial, that might have a little something to do with it.

What is the audio resolution that you are attempting to playback? Maybe you are trying to playback a audio file that is in a different resolution than what the project is set at... 16 bit or 24 bit?

When you open a new VIP and you load the audio, do you get any error or warning dialog?

What is your playback hardware device?

You need to press the Y key while in the Arrange Window to open your System Audio settings and set up your sound card. Go here and watch the Fundamentals Part 2 video:
