Transferring SoundForge from one PC to Another

Derek-Baron wrote on 1/11/2019, 12:10 PM

Hello ~

I currently have SoundForge (9.0) yes I know it's old but it's never failed me. I want to transfer it from my old Desktop PC to my Laptop PC.

When I log into SonyCreative Support - that is where I locate it and my other software and it accepts my Serial # but states: No downloads are available for the selected product.

When I log into Magix - it is not listed but my Movie Studio's are found there? I have been able to do that with my Movie Studio but when I go to the download page for SoundForge,

Does that mean they no longer offer the download?
Does that mean I need to delete it off the old before it can be added on the new?

I can see it.... but can't access it?

Hope someone can help.

Thx - Derek

"When I log into SonyCreative Support"... I assume you mean Magix?

The SF Pro 9e installation 'should' be available in 'My products' in Magix's Service Center ... it just downloaded for me. Be aware that some browsers (PaleMoon and some versions of Firefox) don't work with reCAPTCHA (I am not a robot). Try another browser like Chrome or Edge. If that does not work, PM me and I send an off-site link. You will still need your serial number to activate it though.

Or.. you could try the Pro 9 demo from Software informer
( https://sound-forge.software.informer.com/download/?ca6f4f )
I think Pro 9 would register the same with your serial number.

Hello RRaud - thx so much for your help.

I was able to download the trial version from your instructions - thank you!

However, when I take my serial # from my OLD version it starts with 15T and when I add that it tells me I have entered an incorrect # as it is supposed to start with a 15H?

Thoughts?

Derek

Don't know Derek, Try using H instead of T... but I don't think it will help. As I stated, I can get you a link to Magix's SF Pro 9 installer, but it will probably be the same, and your will have to contact Magix support.

Hi RRaud - I have tried to find the "email" for Magix - do you know where I can locate it? I am not having any luck with a simple email in order to get this issue fixed. Thx again for the help. Derek

@Derek-Baron

The easiest method to contact Magix, click on the "Contact" button at the foot of this and every forum page.

Win 11 Pro 64 bit, Intel i7 14700, 16 GB RAM, NVidia RTX 4060 and Intel UHD770 Graphics, MOTU 8-Pre f/w audio interface, VPX, MEP, Music Maker, PhotoStory Deluxe, Photo Manager Deluxe, Xara 3D Maker 7, Samplitude Pro X7 Suite, Reaper, Adobe Audition 3, CS6 and CC, 2 x Canon HG10 cameras, 1 x Canon EOS 600D, Akaso EK7000 Pro Action Cam

Hey @emmrecs I appreciate the help but unfortunately it states on their page that they will not support Sony Audio in any format under V12 and mine is 9.

So not sure how else to get help with it?

Thx again

Did you contact Magix customer service? (not Tech Support). Log in and go to Internet - https://support2.magix.com/customer/index.php
Then to
"My enquiry is about: I am not able to activate the software or a codec/plug-in within the software,"

Otherwise, on your other PC with SF-9 installed, does that show the same serial starting with 15T? Help> about Sound Forge"

I don't know but maybe an earlier build will work with the 15T serial, Sound Forge 9.0 "e" was the final build of 9.0 AFAIK.

Maybe someone is willing to sell you a Pro 9 serial (which starts w/ the required 15H).
