Transfering project file from one PC to another PC (Laptop)

I've been looking for a solution to this simple yet illusive procedure in Samplitude Pro x4. I produced a project of wave tracks (no midi) and all I want to do is simply save the project to flash drive, transfer to my laptop, and load the project into Samplitude Pro x4. However, each avenue, if it be "save as" or "save copy" or "export", I get the file with no content. No tracks with the wave files (music) but I do get the set up. What and why should this be rocket science? I've used Samplitude 11 pro in the past and never had this problem. I could transfer from one PC to the other without any issues. What am I missing here? None of the videos Kraznet has address this process at all. Thank you in advance. OS - Windows 10pro and home on both machines. (shouldn't make a difference).

Hi,

You need to transfer all files associated with the VPX. Wave and other recordings are not part of the VIP, they are separate files and need to be transferred along with the VIP.

Try, File, Clean up, Save Complete VIP in... and save everything to another folder or to a USB memory stick for copying to the other computer. This should get all of files. You may have to add things that are on the list that pops up. Then copy everything to the other computer, etc.

Thank you so much! That did it. This will make rehearsing parts much easier in different locations. One more question though, if I wanted to save all the files to the laptop, what is the procedure? I tried saving as but it seem to just revert back to the USB flash drive.

Hi Styxx,

Do not open the VIP from the USB flash drive. Copy the project and files to the Project location on the second computer, usually something like:

C:\Users\Admin\Documents\MAGIX\Samplitude Pro X3 Suite

but with a subfolder. Remove the USB flash drive, and then open the VIP in Samplitude by navigating to it.
