Transfer to mobile devices

donnie_slack wrote on 6/16/2013, 5:33 PM

I am trying to transfer a video to an Samsung Android Phone. Using Magix Movie Edit 2013 Preium. When I attempt to transfer a video I get to the step where the dialog ask to show the folder on the phone where i want the video transferred to. When I get to the Droid folder MOVIES and click OK on the Magix folder dialog I get a message saying "Transfer canceled."

Using Windows 7 64 bit I can find the movie that was created for the transfer in the windows folder and then manually drop it to the phone movie folder. I get a message asking if I want to convert it before transfer. This meathod works the transfer directly from Movie Edit 2013 does not work.

Hi,

You need to create a file exactly the same format and specifications like the movies you can shot with your Samsung Phone. For a Samsung Tablet the recorded movie file is a MP4 format and the size is1280 x 720, the file is located in the folder DCIM / Camera, you can use any folder like Movies. Avoid to try, shot a small movie using your phone and transfer to your computer. Use a video program to open the file and check the properties for the video file and the sound file normally I use QuickTime player from Apple is a free download from www.apple.com . (Inspector function) When you know use Magix software and use the same parameters for video and sound to export a file. Last step copy your file in your phone. Probably visit the Samsung may it contain all info on this subject or small software to convert video file to Samsung.

YR,

Thanks for the answer, but that is not the problem. The software is supposed to put the movie file in the correct format to transfer to the phone. I select Android High or Low resolution, the file is created, then I get a dialog asking me to show it where the folder on the phone is. I do that and when I click OK I get a message that the file transfer has terminated. Just as an experiment I pointed to a location on the PC harddrive and the file transferred. I then manually dropped the file from the PC to the phone with no problem. This defeats the whole purpose of the software doing it with a couple mouse clicks. The file format that android movies are WMV or mp4, It may accept others not sure. Anyway back to the drawing board.

There are still other bugs besides this one problem I will be posting.

Thanks again.

Hi

Look in the Program settings, Folder tab for the location of the Export folder - the files should be in there.

Hi Terrypin,

There is much confusion for exports to mobile devices, which format to choose, the size and finally the sound file. The best way of seeing the nature of the file is to create a file using the mobile phone and to check the properties of the video and sound file. The users believe that all the androids are identical and only choose to export androids is enough to create a perfect export. No software manufacturers can envisage an export satisfying all the mobile devices. On the other hand, we can analyze the file generated by mobile devices and make of it a correspondent exactly with the criteria of the device.

That is suggestion or you can search many hours over the web to find a solution and try after.

Best regards,

After checking with Tech Support for this problem it was determined that the built in tranfer of Movies to devices may not work with all devices. Anyway my work around was to create a folder on my PC Harddrive and point to that location. Now when I do a tranfer to a device it goes to the folder I pointed to.  I then use Windows 7 64 bit Explorer to open the phone folder location and then drop the movies from the PC location to the phone. Windows 7 ask if I want to convert the file to a format for the phone. It converts a Mpeg3 or MPeg4 to a WMA before it transfers to the Android folder.

Anyway so much for a one button operation to transfer files to a phone. Not a big deal but would be nice if things worked as advertised.

Thanks everyone for your answers.
