Third party VSTs don't show

jim-bratton wrote on 11/1/2017, 10:24 PM

ref SF pro 11 Third party VSTs show in the organize VSTs but not in operation Ie no RX or wave Category... Reloaded SF 10 on same laptop and it works fine and shows all plugins both organize and in operation... All this happened after I did a factory reset of this computer and reloaded SF Pro 11... Also have Adobe audition and all plugins work with it. I have been an SF customer since the creation of SF... My workflow is designed around the product, but I am being forced to look at alternates.

Not sure what you mean by " Ie no RX or wave Category." Does that mean, they are listed in the VST category, but will not load?

Have you selected (and refreshed) the paths in "Options> Preferences> VST" I can't think of any thing else off hand, except to use SF Pro 10. Aside from a few changes, SF Pro 10 and Pro 11 are pretty much the same.. in fact, I prefer SF Pro 10.

<rant> SCS really messed up the Pro 11 record and plug in chainer UI, making a simple one step procedure into three.. like SloTools. </rant>

Hi,

As well, as far as I can tell, being a new user, you have to get the effects from FX Favorites to the bottom part of the drop down by clicking on Organize and dragging the folder or the effect to Favorites.

Is there another way? I find it very strange that I can't just click on one from Organize and it is opens.

In fact, I find the whole UI strange. I am used to Magix Audio & Music Lab (and Samplitude Pro X, Video Pro X and others) which I find quite straight-forward. Time to read the manual.

Yes, you have to drag the desired plug-in to 'Favorites' in the organize FX window. Otherwise you can add plug-ins directly in 'View> Plug-in Chain or 'Favorites> Apply Plug-in Chain. As I stated, Pro 10 was more intuitive and faster.. at least for me.

You can also apply a Plug-in without using the chainer, choosing the plug-in in 'Favorites' (if you had added any).

I have done the drag and drop in "Organize" but they don't show up in the dropdown.. I'm going to retry when I get back in studio. I may be missing something. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Glad SF10 is still around
