Have you rebooted the computer since it last worked? - Sometimes that helps reorganize the way Windows recognizes hardware.

When you plug in the device, does Windows attempt to recognize (trying to locate driver for device)?

  • If yes, then perhaps you need to reinstall the program and or driver for the device.
  • If no, the device might be dead, in that case there is nothing that can be done, it would need replaced.

Thank you very much, looks like I'll need to contact magix as I've rebooted and the system isn't looking for the driver :( Thanks for your quick response.

Just to add to John's comment - try plugging the USB device into different USB ports on your computer - you may have a USB port/hub on the computer motherboard gone and the converter is OK - you will get asked or Windows will install the drivers.
