the specified operation is not allowed on read only files

Sound Forge 10

Everything was working perfectly fine. Today I got this error message "the specified operation is not allowed on read-only files" anytime and in any files, I am trying to make any changes

Confirm that "Open as read-only" is disabled in the 'File> Open' menu.
Confirm that Sound Forge is in the 'normal' edit mode (Edit> Tool> Edit)
Try exiting SF and relaunching, and/or reboot the PC.
Are the files on a local drive?
