When I enter text I can note edit the text box. Seem as if the width and height of the box is locked.

Try to save the Word-document as RTF before importing into MEP.

Copying from Word will also import any formatting you have applied in word and it may be this which is causing the problem.
Try copying the text from Word into Notepad and the copy from Notepad to MEP - this will get rid of all the Word formatting.
