@Natalia-Motyliska

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

The coupon is solely for the Music Maker in-app store or on the Producer Planet platform so can you confirm, exactly which "Magix store" you are using please?

That will be the hadr one, I need to check on my pc :)

Natalia-Motyliska wrote on 5/8/2023, 6:23 AM

The official one, not the in-App. I guess I will go into in-app store than it should work :)

The Coupon for the Survey clearly states that should your purchase exceed the coupon value, you will be required to pay the difference. When you purchase LESS than the value, you get scammed because you could only purchase one item at a time and your credit on the voucher falls away. Very disappointed!

Natalia-Motyliska wrote on 5/8/2023, 7:17 AM

Oh really? So it's not like you now have free $20 to spend, it's working only as a discount.

@Hannes-DuPlessis

First, please understand these are entirely my personal views. I, like all the forum moderators, am NOT a Magix employee so this is NOT an "official" Magix statement.

I understand why you write as you do but

When you purchase LESS than the value, you get scammed

how can you claim to be "scammed" if the coupon itself is free and so has cost you nothing?

There was no compulsion on any user to complete the survey; nor is there any compulsion to use the coupon.

In practice, suppose you purchase an item for, say, $18.50. How is Magix to "credit" you with the unused $1.50? Yes, I realise it could be done but spare a thought for the Magix staff who would have to manage such a system where, potentially, many hundreds, if not thousands, of users each have various small amounts of credit available to them!

@emmrecs. Thank you for your response. I am sure the Magix staff have computers that keep track of your accounts and credits. This is surely not done manually. You get scammed when you are promised a certain value but when you want to use it, you cannot. Maybe the conditions that came with it should have stated that you can only use it for ONE purchase. A little clarity goes a long way. Anyway, this was just a pointer how they can improve on their customer’s experience with vouchers!

Hi

The definition of scammed is 'to trick someone into giving you money, usually in an illegal way'.

Magix have not scammed you. You have not lost anything, you have gained a coupon of a given value to be redeemed against a purchase in the Magix store.

The terms & conditions for redeeming a coupon are clear - ii is one time use only and if the value of the purchase exceeds the coupon value, you have to pay the difference and if the purchase is less then the coupon value you do not get a credit for the difference.

Either way you have gained something to your advantage for a reduced price or free.

This goes for many brick & mortar stores - if you do not use the full value of the coupon/voucher you cannot get the remaining cash value of that coupon.

From your response it is clear that how the customer feel after a bad shopping experience is of no concern to you. Call me old fashioned, but when Magix gave me a voucher with a value and through their tricks, I could not use it, I felt scammed. I never wanted the cash value for the remaining credit and nowhere did it state that you can only use the coupon once. So you are not truthful in your statement “that it clearly states”. My understanding was that I would be able to select several items to the value of the voucher and was quite happy to pay if it’s value would exceed the voucher’s value. My suggestion is for Magix to allow a shopping cart experience where you could add several items and at checkout apply any coupons. So simple and easy.

@Hannes-DuPlessis You confuse a voucher coupon with some kind of a credit. There are always some conditions for coupons, for example they are only valid for certain items or only if you go over a certain payment amount or for only one purchase.

Hi

. . . . From your response it is clear that how the customer feel after a bad shopping experience is of no concern to you. . . . .

On the contrary, we are trying to help you understand the terms and conditions of use for credits, vouchers and coupons, keeping our responses informative and clear without going into a 'too long did not read' response.

. . . . My understanding was that I would be able to select several items to the value of the voucher  . . . .

Can you give us a link to where this information is on the website, or post the portion of the email you got with the voucher code that gave this impression - remove any personal information such as email address and the voucher code.
