suppressing the parts of the frame - viedo vide

hi!  im using movie edit pro 15 plus, and i ´d like to remove the upper and lower few centimiters from the captured video... it´s like i want to show the central belt of the video only, which would then look thiner (eg as if it was a panorama picture).

I tried using the size and position functions but if I only want the central horizontal belt, it either squeezes the whole picture into smaller one, or it keeps proportions but fails to show all of the central part then cos it stretches vertically as i largen the belt horizontaly.

so i just only need to see the central horizontal belt and kind of delete the upper and lower horizontal belt of the picture. it´s as if i censored the upper and lower part of the image with black colour. i want to apply this film-wide. any suggestions?

thanks!

I have not ver. 15, but 16-18. Mark the video and go to Effects > Section. Change Keep proportions to Free proportions (or 16:9). Then adjust the cropping up or down.

thanks!

that´s what i was looking for. still, there´s one more thing i´d like to know... is it possible to smoothly enlarge the selected range (or respectively, make it smaller) throught the video´s duration? like to uncover the previously "hidden" parts of it?

May be you can use Movement templates for this. But I think the best way to solve your question is to study and learn how Keyframe animation works. It is a very versatile tool. First read about it in your PDF handbook. You will find good instructions under Tutorials on this forum, though in german and french.
Good luck !
